Camping, and then they leave...

3/19/2005

I finally got to go camping! Joy, Roy, and I all went camping in Mt Rainier National Park. We drove to a campsite along the Carbon River, which is run-off from the Carbon Glacier. We took a hike over to a waterfall and back after we set up camp, then we went back to start our fire. The campsite was in the river valley between Chenuis and Mother Mountain. The rain started shortly after we got out fire going, and kept up on and off all night. We came prepared, knowing the the weather in Washington is always rainy. The next day, after taking a picture of Roy and Joy sitting on a log, Joy dropped her cigarettes in the river... we scrambled to get them before they got far down stream, but we couldn't get them.

Joy and Roy have gone away to Las Vegas... I'm sad to see them go, they were my favorite people out here so far, but they went away. Last night we had a goodbye dinner, to say goodbye to them, it's hard to keep having to say goodbye to everyone, but It just keeps happening... so what am I to do? Well, work will help keep me occupied... and school... oh well, back to the drawing board

The Weather is Great!

I've been enjoying the great weather around here the past couple days.
Yesterday I walked down to Lake Washington and back. There is a really
great trail that runs right along the cedar river. When I got down to
the lake, I saw one of the Boing plants, right across the river from the
Renton Municipal Airport.
To make the plant look more appealing, Boing builds large parks with
tall trees around the perimeter, but when I got to the lake, there was a
catwalk which stuck out into the lake, and I could see the massive
repair facility clearly. The path I followed comes to a spiral at the
end, with a bench in the center. I sat in the bench for a while, and
looked out across lake washington. Streight north, I could see Bill
Gate's most famous house in the area. I can tell which one it is by the
huge boat house.
The house is on Merceir Island. This is a huge island in the middle of
Lake washington. To the right, I can see Bellview... To the left I can
see the top of Seattle peaking above the hills. It looks Like I'm
taking another walk today, just to keep up the habit.

A Long day...

It's been a long day of making maps and pictures to help enhance the
site. The Kalalock and Seattle sections now have comments, and the TOC
for Tour De SteveO as well as the imthefrizzlefry1143 site have links to
view a file list of the pictures.

The Tour De SteveO Section has all the trip pictures.
imthefrizzlefry1143 has all of my topographical maps, and aerial photos.
Kalalock has a Topo Map outlining the trip.
Seattle has an aerial photo showing the general location of my apartment
(search imthefrizzlefry1143 for a more detailed photo or my Apt complex.).

Fed into the paperwork...

Getting a job at ITT has been taking a very long time... I applied to be approved to apply to work there, but then I have to re-apply because the position was not posted before I applied. So, I hope my friend Swamy can get me a job working for PC Doctor... as a computer tech. That would be good... To top off things at ITT, the "new" books we got are actually the same as the old books... just printed by a different company. It turns out that ITT writes the books, and then has a company print them... which means that ITT needs new writers. I am starting to think that going to UW (University of Washington) would be the best thing for me.

The weather is great!

F***in McAfee

Today I was set back almost an entire day because McAfee decided to
delete the VB Studio EXE... I think it was infected with some sort of
virus... which McAfee only knows how to delete... The Glory Bound Books
Las Vegas job is set back again... Atleast my due date is a week away...
BTW the Glory Bound Books Las Vegas job is a database project I'm
working on for my friend Roy's company... they sell catholic books...
but I only have to work with the Database...
Roy made the program in Access... but I'm securing it with VB... not
that VB is secure.... but oh well... if I get this done before he moves
to Las Vegas, I think I might even make some money off of it! well, now
that I re-installed Visual Studio... I can get back to work... Later

Mt St Helens... again

This is the second time since I came out here that MT St Helens decided
to blow... This time there was a cloud that went 36000 FT into the
air... I could see it from my appartment! Mt Rainier keeps up with it's
usual 1.0 to 3.4 quakes. They say the mountain should stop for a while,
but who knows.

I'm starting to think that I have something to do with these
eruptions... or it's a sign or something... oh well

I got New Pictures

I just got some pretty good areial and topographical pictures to update
to the site... I'll have them posted soon
